MARKETING PLAN

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE BASIC STEPS TO START GENERATING CONTENT FOR AN EFFECTIVE MARKETING PLAN FOR A NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Identification of the target audience (+): the target audience to be addressed by the company should be clearly defined, taking into account their demographic, psychographic, geographic and behavioural characteristics. This will allow you to tailor your marketing messages and strategies to the needs and preferences of your potential customers.
  2. Definition of the value proposition (+): the company's value proposition must be defined, i.e. the value offered to customers that makes it unique and differentiated from the competition. This will establish the positioning of the brand in the minds of customers and highlight the benefits and competitive advantages.
  3. Selection of communication channels (+): the most appropriate communication channels should be selected to reach the target audience, such as social media, online advertising, email marketing, events and fairs, among others. It is important to adapt messages and content to the different channels to achieve an effective impact.
  4. Establishment of objectives and metrics (+): objectives and metrics should be established to measure the success of marketing strategies, such as increased sales, improved conversion rate, increased website traffic, among others. This will allow performance to be measured and adjustments to the marketing plan to be made if necessary.
  5. SWOT analysis (+).
  6. Marketing tactics to achieve business objectives (+).
  7. Definition of the budget (+): the budget for marketing actions should be defined and prioritised according to the available resources. It is important to allocate the budget effectively in order to maximise the return on investment and obtain the desired results.
  8. Action plan, implementation and monitoring: the marketing plan should be implemented and the results obtained should be constantly monitored, making adjustments and improvements if necessary. It is important to periodically evaluate the performance of the marketing actions and make adjustments to achieve the established objectives.

In summary, your start-up's marketing plan should include the most appropriate marketing channels and strategies to reach your customer segment, the establishment of objectives and metrics, the definition of the budget, and the implementation and ongoing monitoring. By following these steps, you will be able to design an effective marketing plan that will enable the new company to attract and retain customers and achieve sales and profitability targets.

AT WHAT POINT SHOULD I START DEVELOPING A MARKETING PLAN?

There is no point in drawing up a marketing plan if our customer segment is not yet clear, or if the proposition is not yet sufficiently attractive, i.e., the product market fit (+) must be completed.

  • Validations performed (+).
  • Detail of our customer segment, problem or need we solve (include validated knowledge).
  • Communication channels identified.
  • Growth engine identified.
  • Differences with our competitors. Competitive advantage (+). Competitive strategy.

Therefore, before developing a marketing plan, we need to go through the steps proposed in sprint 1 and 2 of the Acceleration Programme.

ACTION PLAN

In this final stage, you should develop a detailed plan, including the times and people responsible for each and every one of the activities to be carried out for the company. It is advisable to make a one-year plan and to break it down and revise it (if necessary) in quarterly and/or monthly periods, following up against the objectives previously set out in the plan.

At the beginning you will probably need to check it weekly, that's normal!!! While the marketing plan is a document that requires time and effort, it adds a lot of value, because it will not only become your execution manual, but it will also give you a clearer direction of where you want to take your business, and that is essential for any business, whether it is large, medium or small, and it is essential for any business. startup (+).

Using artificial intelligence to improve your marketing plan

ChatGPT can help an entrepreneur to complete his or her marketing plan in several ways.

HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS:

  1. Offer ideas: can provide ideas for marketing strategies depending on the entrepreneur's type of business, target market and short- and long-term goals. Based on my previous knowledge and experience, I can provide a list of options that might be useful.
  2. Review and provide feedback: Once the entrepreneur has a draft marketing plan, the Inteligencia Artificial (IA) can help review and provide feedback to improve it. I can point out any gaps or inconsistencies, as well as offer suggestions for improving the plan.
  3. Clarify concepts: If there is a concept that the entrepreneur does not fully understand, I can explain it in simple and clear terms to help them understand it better. This can help the entrepreneur make informed decisions about their marketing plan.
  4. Provide examples: can provide examples of successful marketing plans of businesses similar to the entrepreneur's business. These examples can help give an idea of what works and what does not work in the market.

In a nutshell, Artificial intelligence can be of great help in finalising a marketing plan for an entrepreneur, providing ideas, reviewing and giving feedback, clarifying concepts and providing successful examples.

SOME PRACTICAL EXAMPLES OF HOW AN ENTREPRENEUR COULD USE CHATGPT TO DEVELOP THEIR MARKETING PLAN:

  1. Get ideas for marketing strategies: An entrepreneur who is launching a new product or service could use ChatGPT to get ideas on how to promote their product. He could ask questions such as "What are the best marketing strategies for launching a new product online?" or "What marketing channels are the most effective for reaching my target market?". ChatGPT can provide various ideas and suggestions, such as video content creation, social media advertising, influencer marketing, among others.
  2. Review and provide feedback: An entrepreneur who has drafted his marketing plan could use ChatGPT to get a second opinion and receive feedback on his plan. He could submit his plan to ChatGPT and ask questions such as "What do you think of my blog content strategy", or "What can I do to improve my email strategy". ChatGPT can provide useful feedback and suggestions to improve the marketing plan.
  3. Clarify concepts: An entrepreneur who is unsure about a specific marketing concept could use ChatGPT to clarify his doubts. He could ask questions like "How do Google Ads work" or "What is SEO and how can it help my business? ChatGPT can provide clear and concise explanations on these topics.
  4. Obtain successful examples: An entrepreneur looking for inspiration could use ChatGPT to get successful examples of marketing plans from similar businesses. He or she could ask questions like "Can you provide some examples of successful marketing strategies for an online clothing shop?", or "What are some innovative marketing campaigns that have been successful for small businesses? ChatGPT can provide several successful examples to inspire the entrepreneur.

In a nutshell, an entrepreneur can use artificial intelligence to get ideas, review and receive feedback, clarify concepts and get successful examples in the development of their marketing plan.
