AID FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

Accelerate your business with these expert tips on "Aid for women entrepreneurs". Analyse and discover this TIP!

One in three women in Spain are self-employed and their weight in the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers is becoming increasingly important. This is undoubtedly due to the increasingly evident difficulties in reconciling work outside the home with family life. Entrepreneurship is the great alternative for women, especially if they are mothers.

The question is whether there is support available for women to carry out their projects, and the answer is yes. Whether they are sufficient is another matter. Let us look at the options.

The first thing to say is that the formulas for aid to women are very changeable. Secondly, this aid comes from different levels of administration, from the central government, the autonomous regions and the local councils, and it is worth investigating the aid available at any given moment.

The most important sources of aid are:

PAEM, WOMEN'S BUSINESS SUPPORT PROGRAMME

It depends on the Chambers of Commerce and has been active for more than 15 years. Its purpose is to provide advice, processing services and financial support through the European Social Fund, the Institute for Women and Equal Opportunities and other bodies.

The PAEM is aimed at women with a desire for entrepreneurship, with an idea or project to carry forward or with a plan for expansion or modernisation. Counselling is free and can be done online (+)

RURAL WOMEN'S CHALLENGE PROGRAMME

It is a programme of the Instituto de la Mujer y para la Igualdad de Oportunidades with the collaboration of the EOI with funding from the European Social Fund. The benefits of this programme consist of training, coaching, mentoring and help in setting up an online shop. It also offers an information service on access to funding. You can find more information about this programme here (+).

AID FOR YOUNG WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

The Plan de Choque por el Empleo Joven 2019-21 includes this line of aid for young women with technology-based projects. Within this same programme there is a block of aid aimed at women in rural areas who are in the Special Regime for self-employed agricultural workers.

AID FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS IN THE TECHNOLOGY SECTOR

Within the Innovatia 8.3 Programme, it is a sponsorship programme that offers a line of aid aimed at women entrepreneurs of any age, obviously within the technological or scientific sector. The programme is supported by the Women's Institute and the European Social Fund. At this link (+) you access the website of Innovatia 8.3

SPECIFIC AID FOR MOTHERS

Self-employed mothers can benefit from other aid formulas related to the self-employed quota and personal income tax.

With reference to the self-employed quota and after maternity leave, women can register as self-employed for 12 months paying a quota of 60 euros. In relation to personal income tax, the woman can benefit from a reduction of 20% on the net income up to a limit of 100,000 euros.
