TASK

CASE STUDY

Maria is an entrepreneur who has been working on her business project for a year, but has reached a point where she feels stuck and does not know how to move forward. As a mentor, my goal is to help her become more aware of her situation and facilitate her learning so that she can move forward with her project.

EXPLORATION OF REALITY:
  • I start by asking open-ended questions to explore Maria's current reality and gain a deeper understanding of her situation. I ask her how her business is currently doing, what challenges she is facing and how she feels in her role as an entrepreneur. I also ask her about her long-term goals and plans.
EXPLORATION OF NEW OPTIONS:
  • I then present her with some options to help her move forward, including exploring new market areas, expanding her network and developing new business skills. Together, we explore the advantages and disadvantages of each option.
POWERFUL QUESTIONS:
  • I use powerful questions to help Maria reflect on her decisions and actions. I ask her how she has handled challenges in the past and how she can apply those lessons to her current situation. I also ask her about her strengths, weaknesses and motivations, and how they can influence her business.
OBSERVATIONS:
  • I offer constructive feedback and advice to help Maria improve and grow. I provide examples of similar situations and how other entrepreneurs have overcome these challenges. I also suggest some essays and role plays to help her develop key entrepreneurial skills.
EXPLORATION OF EMOTIONS AND BELIEFS:
  • Finally, we explore Maria's emotions and beliefs about her business. I ask her how she feels about her role as an entrepreneur and if there are any fears or worries that may be hindering her progress. Together, we explore how she can manage these emotions and adopt a more positive and growth mindset.

In a nutshell, Through exploring reality, exploring new options, asking powerful questions, making observations and exploring emotions and beliefs, I was able to help Maria gain greater awareness and facilitate her learning so that she could move forward with her business project.

GOOD MORNING ! Most entrepreneurs have skills that they do not know how to value and it is the mentor's role to make them aware of them, but there are also those who undertake tasks for which they lack preparation, and it is also the mentor's job to help detect the shortcomings and how to improve these skills.
