Entrepreneurship is turning a business idea into a company, creating a long-term profitable model. The entrepreneur is the person who obtains all the necessary resources to make it viable with growth. Entrepreneur is a person who discovers a business opportunity and is able to find the necessary resources (people, partners, $...) to transform it into a profitable and lasting company (success). In the old days, entrepreneurs had many "enemies". Marxism made them disappear in half the world:

  • Unions and employees.
  • Tax collectors, Politicians.

Today, the image of entrepreneurs is very much in the and the whole of society values it very highly, far above that of the employer. Today we entrepreneurs are indispensable. We are the solution to unemployment. It has been shown that only growing and/or new companies create new quality jobs to get out of the crisis. CRISIS. The regions that have invested in their entrepreneurs today enjoy very low unemployment rates. Therefore, we are wanted everywhere, WE ARE HEROES!!!

There are three stages in entrepreneurship:

  • Firstly, it perceives and identifies latent needs and or unsatisfied problems.
  • Secondly, we design solutions that bring value to this group of customers, with the aim of development of the product or service concept that can satisfy the unmet need, allowing a profit to be made.
  • And finally, the implementation of the ideafinding the resources (team, partners, financing...) to be able to turn the opportunity into a stable company with real results.

Types of ventures: opportunity vs. necessity

  • Identifying an opportunity is the best way to start.
  • An opportunity is finding a customer segment with an unmet need or problem and being able to develop an appropriate solution to satisfy them.
    • Typical failures, focus on launching products rather than meeting needs.
    • Falling in love with the product instead of providing solutions to your customer's needs/problems.
  • Entrepreneurship out of necessity alone can be dangerous, as it leads to launching products or services that do not meet needs.
    • Ex: unemployed person who receives a one-off payment and creates one more bar without differentiation, or one more shop.

In regions where the need for entrepreneurship has remained low, because the market offers a lot of stable and quality jobs, the % of people wishing to become entrepreneurs has fallen sharply (see GEN report comparing the entrepreneurship rate by country).

  • SMEsThey usually focus on a global or regional market, very localised geographically. What these types of companies are really looking for is entrepreneurship, covering a local need and not thinking globally.
  • R&D&I, it is about companies or new lines of business is based on some form of innovation, providing a competitive advantage. Focused on global markets and jobs can be outsourced.

Characteristics of an entrepreneur

TO SEE THE ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS THAT ARE NECESSARY AND THAT CAN BE IMPROVED THROUGH A METHODOLOGY:

INNOVATIVE

CREATIVE

RISK-TAKING CAPACITY
  • You must be able to take risks and overcome the challenges that the development of a project may generate.

FLEXIBILITY AND ADAPTABILITY
  • In the face of these difficulties, an entrepreneur must be flexible to change and always focus on growth. Sometimes, it is possible to modify certain aspects of the venture in order to improve and obtain better results.

From a business point of view, entrepreneurship is a process aimed at turning a business idea into a company by creating a long-term and profitable model. From this point of view, the entrepreneur, is the a person who conceives an idea while detecting a business opportunity and securing all the necessary resources to make it viable and growing. The word "entrepreneurship" has several meanings. A basic meaning is that of understanding entrepreneurship as the process of starting up an initiative regardless of its nature. Thus, we can speak of social, educational, cultural, political or business entrepreneurship, etc. Entrepreneurship occurs in any field of human activity.

WHY UNDERTAKE?

This question has two types of responses. The first has to do with the beneficial effects of entrepreneurship at the socio-economic level and the second with the motivations that drive those who take the entrepreneurial initiative:

SOCIO-ECONOMIC BENEFITS

Societies, in general, need entrepreneurs. This fact, which is not always well understood, means that in many countries entrepreneurs are considered to be necessary agents that must be promoted, trained and encouraged. It is understood that entrepreneurs are an instrument for the positive transformation of the societies in which they operate. The success of entrepreneurs translates into the generation of wealth, employment and economic growth. Entrepreneurship also has a disruptive effect as it generates new products and services, new technologies, new management procedures and jobs at a pace that is impossible for traditional business to achieve. Therefore, new companies create new wealth through the creation of new markets.

Similarly, the intrinsic innovative character of start-ups help to give responses to needs of all kinds, thereby helping to bring about social change.. Telemedicine, materials technology, advances in biotechnology, are just a few examples of the revolution that is coming from new entrepreneurs who are providing solutions to old problems such as endemic diseases or hunger. The teleworkor the digital nomads are phenomena that positively transform the way of life of people who have more free time, reduce their transport costs and live where they want, etc. New businesses are already born open to these new realities, they adopt them and create business models based on them.

The smartphones and applications people's information, purchasing and consumption habits are changing, and The new forms of business are increasingly appearing. The technological globalisation allows entrepreneurs in less developed countries have access to the same tools that are available in advanced countries They can also benefit from the sale of their products and services in markets far from their geographical environment. Entrepreneurship generates environments or ecosystems which feed back on each other and contribute to socio-economic development and the well-being of the people. The regions that have invested in their entrepreneurs today enjoy very low unemployment rates. It is clear, therefore, that support for entrepreneurship is a strategic necessity insofar as it sets the pace for future economic development and social welfare.

MOTIVATIONS OF ENTREPRENEURS:

Entrepreneurs are driven to entrepreneurship by a wide range of personal motivations: creation of wealth and employment, improvement of their quality of life and that of their loved ones, etc. You can find more information in the following TIP (+)

WHAT IS AN ENTREPRENEUR?

An entrepreneur is a person who discovers an opportunity to business opportunity and is able to find the necessary resources (people, partners, money...customers) to transform it into a profitable and sustainable business. The entrepreneur is commonly seen as a business leader and innovator. However, there have been times during which on entrepreneurshipThe EU's role in the fight against poverty and social exclusion, as well as anything to do with private property and private initiative, had important enemies:

  • Thus Marxism made them disappear from half the world.
  • Trade unions saw entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs as opponents to be beaten.
  • Revenue agencies have seen them as a cow to be milked.

At present, and for the reasons set out above the image of entrepreneurs is much better valued and they are seen as a necessary agent for the creation of wealth and employment. We could even say that the image of the entrepreneur is generally better valued than that of the businessman. The truth is that entrepreneurs are essential, and they are the only real solution to unemployment, since it is new and growing companies that generate job opportunities. For their part, traditional consolidated companies tend to freeze their workforces or, if not, they are immersed in processes to reduce their personnel costs in order to defend their competitiveness.
