Acceleration Programme Webinar Speakers Guide

Welcome to mentorDay's acceleration programme. As a speaker, your role is fundamental in the development and growth of our entrepreneurs and in the acceleration of their companies. 

Here is a guide to help you understand your role and how you can maximise the impact of your webinar:

WHO IS A SPEAKER IN THE ACCELERATION PROGRAMME?

The speakers are not simply transmitters of information, but leaders and experts in their fields who seek to share their knowledge and experience. They are advisors and counselors who provide essential feedback and advice for entrepreneurs to improve their projects and accelerate their businesses.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SPEAKERS IN THE WEBINAR ACCELERATION PROGRAMME

Recuerda, tu principal objetivo es ayudar a los emprendedores a aprender y mejorar sus proyectos. No se trata solo de transmitir información teórica, sino de guiar, desafiar y apoyar.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SPEAKER BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER THE WEBINAR
BEFORE THE WEBINAR:
  • CONFIRMATION OF PARTICIPATION
    • Debes confirmar tu participación en el webinar, confirmando la fecha y hora que te propondremos por email y en el recordatorio de Google Calendar que te enviamos.
    • Once your participation has been confirmed, firm commitment is expected and it is essential that you do not break your commitment.
  • REVIEW OF DELIVERABLES
    • Recibirás enlaces a  los documentos entregables trabajados previamente por cada alumno. 
    • We recommend that you review these deliverables to understand the difficulties and obstacles faced by your learners.
    • Provides feedback (see+) to each student, including written comments on each deliverable received.
  • PREPARATION OF THE WEBINAR CONTENT
    • No es necesario que prepares una presentación ni material didáctico adicional para el webinar, si lo tienes puedes presentarlo, pero no es un requisito.
    • The content of your webinar can be found in the corresponding deliverable. You can view all the deliverables (see+) of the acceleration programme, avoid duplication or leaving topics unaddressed 
    • You must read the content of the deliverable created for your webinar.
    • We suggest you complete the quiz associated with each question in the deliverable to measure your own knowledge.  
    • Use the survey questionnaire included in the deliverable to make suggestions, propose new topics (making sure they are not already covered in other webinars).
DURING THE WEBINAR
SESSION FACILITATOR

You are not only a subject matter expert, but also a session facilitator. Your goal is to maintain an active and participatory flow, ensuring that all entrepreneurs are engaged and get the most out of the webinar to accelerate their businesses.

GROUP MENTORING: THE HEART OF OUR APPROACH (VER+)

Unlike unilateral sessions peer 2 peer (ver+), in the webinars we use group mentoring. This means that you should foster a collaborative learning environment where the entrepreneurs themselves are an active part of the feedback process. Your role is to guide this process, asking provocative questions and challenging participants to think critically about their projects.

ACTIVA LA TRADUCCIÓN SIMULTÁNEA EN ZOOM

En caso de que la reunión sea multilingue, sigue los siguientes pasos para activar los subtítulos traducidos en la reunión y que todos los participantes puedan entenderse y sigue los consejos de la siguiente TIP para mantener una dinámica positiva en la reunión: Traducción simultánea.

TEACHING TOOLS

  • Questions and discussion: encourage participation and reflection. Take advantage of those in the deliverable
  • Live practical exercises, real cases of the entrepreneurs themselves: allow knowledge to be applied in real time.
CASE STUDIES
  • The participants' own accelerator companies will be the focus of attention.
  • You can complement with your own examples and cases based on your own experience.
  • The speaker does not have to bring any presentation, ppt or case studies different from those of the students.
STUDENT PRESENTATIONS
  • Follow the order of presentation according to the rating ranking. Each student will have a number in front of his/her name in the ZOOM session.
  • You can give priority to those learners whose deliverables you have previously reviewed.
  • Te recomendamos que solicites voluntarios para presentar: «¿Algún voluntario que desee presentar su entregable?». Esto permitirá que aquellos que no tuvieron la oportunidad inicial puedan compartir al final.
  • Limita la presentación de cada alumno a 3 minutos.
  • When each student finishes presenting, verbally ask the other attendees the questions that are in your deliverable, so that they can give feedback and add value. 
  • The speaker does not give feedback directly, but provokes feedback from the rest of the students by asking questions.
  • Recalcar que el feedback que se da a cada alumno seguramente sea de utillidad para el resto también, por lo que deben estar todos atentos y participativos.
PERSONALISED FEEDBACK

Each entrepreneur is unique and, as such, requires specific feedback. The speaker has to get that feedback from the rest of the students. In order for this feedback to take place, a safe environment must be created, where they can feel free to express their concerns and questions without fear.

AFTER THE WEBINAR

We will send you the average rating given to you anonymously by the students. We will take this rating into account to invite you to the following webinars and to award you the accreditation (see+) which entitles to all the benefits of the mentorDay community (see+).

We recommend you to be accredited as a mentor. As an accredited speaker you are entitled to apply for a free place!!!

  • Take time to reflect on how the webinar went, identifying areas for improvement and success points for when we invite you to participate in another webinar.
  • Establish channels (ver+) open communication channels with learners to resolve doubts or provide additional guidance after the webinar.

We will notify you by email so that you can issue the invoice for the collection of your fees (see TIP payments and invoicing). Always remember that your role is essential in guiding and supporting these entrepreneurs on their journey. They will appreciate your experience, commitment and dedication - good luck!

In conclusion, your role as a speaker on the accelerator programme webinars is essential to the growth and development of our entrepreneurs. Your expertise, combined with a focus on group mentoring, ensures that each session is invaluable to those looking to improve and develop their entrepreneurial skills.
